****************************Newsflash 19th May 2012*********************************
Twelve hours to the club competition - after a great day at St Hilary's fete with the Demo Team - tomorrow promises to be a great day.
*******************************************************************************************
The club teaches Freestyle Karate and Kickboxing in Swansea - Specifically the Gorseinon, Dunvant and Waunarlwydd areas.
WCKA Gorseinon and Killay is run by David Huxtable, a third degree black belt and Welsh Karate Governing Body Qualifed Coach. He is assisted by his daughter, Amy, also a qualifed coach and 1st degree black belt and his leadership team including his son Daniel, first degree black belt and WKA World Champion in 2010.
Other senior grades are expected to help with training as part of their training and self development.
The syllabus covers basic punches, kicks and blocks and leads onto advanced throws, sweeps and combinations. Wrist locks, arm locks, knife defences and strangle holds also feature at advanced levels although all are taught from an early stage of training. This side of the syllabus has an emphasis on self defence - a modern style for a modern world.
There is also a very active sports karate and kickboxing section within the WCKA and we are proud to support this aspect of the martial art.
If you are interested or curious about Martial Arts, feel free to give Mr Huxtable a call on 0800 612 5056 or 07787 154409 to discuss your free trial period..
If you live in another part of South Wales, please check our Association websites for details of a club near you.
