David Huxtable - Head Instructor, 1st Degree Back Belt, Qualified WKGB Coach.
Mr Huxtable has been studying karate and kick boxing for over 8 years, initially a traditional style, wado ryu, then with the WCKA under Dave Wing in Fleur De Lys, and more recently under Daniel Parker at Penlan. David is currently studying for his second degree black belt which he hopes to take in mid to late 2008. He is 2007 ECKA National Champion for points fighting in the executive category (over 35). David enjoys the sports karate but his passion is self defence. He was honoured to have been chosen to fight for Wales in the 2007 WKA World Championships in Karlsruhe Germany.
As well as being a fully qualifed WKGB coach, Mr Huxtable is qualified in first aid, has a clean enhanced CRB check and has undertaken child protection training in line with both WCKA and WKGB guidelines.
Daniel Huxtable - Club Leader - 15th Grade - Junior Black Belt
Daniel has been studying karate and kickboxing since early 2004 and has proved to be a dedicated student. He has won several trophies and medals for his expolits in sports karate. These include 1st place in points fighting in the WAKO Welsh Open, 2nd in the WKA Welsh Open and 3rd in the Welsh Ring of Champions. In continuous fighting, he has achieved 3rd place in both the WKA and WAKO welsh opens. Daniel will be taking his 1st degree black belt in 2007 and also represented Wales in the WKA World Championships in Germany this year.
Amy Huxtable - Club Leader - 15th Grade - Junior Black Belt
Amy has been practising karate and kickboxing since 2004. She has become an excellent fighter and superb technician of our style, and her level of performance is one that all students should aspire to. Amy is already an excellent coach and will be undertaking her coaching awards and 1st degree black belt during 2008.
Jonathan Quinn - Club Leader - 13th Grade - Brown and white Belt
Jon has trained under Mr Huxtable for the last 3 years and has proved to be an outstanding student. A recent runner up in two WCKA interclub tournaments, he is looking to continue both the sport and self defence aspects of karate and kickboxing. Prior to the formation of WCKA Gorseinon and Killay Jon won Most Improved Student at WCKA Penlan for 2006.
